Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library was established in 2010 to promote and support the Library.  The Friends host an annual booksale in the Library basement every March, and sponsor many programs for the Library throughout the year.

Meetings are held quarterly on the third Monday of every month at 5:00pm in the Library basement and an annual meeting is held every October.  Dates of meetings are subject to change, so please contact the Library at 509-659-1222 to confirm details.

Interested in becoming a member?  Membership is open to all interested individuals and annual dues are $10.  To become a member, email Friends' President Lori Williams.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

Come check out the great assortment of books and videos for sale at the second annual book sale held March 16-17 in the Library basement!  There will be a special preview day March 15 for Friends' members.  Not a member yet?  Email Friends' President Lori Williams to become one today!

PAST ACTIVITIES

In May 2011, the Friends co-sponsored an event with Humanities Washington.  Mary Michaelson presented an interesting slideshow of her research on Phoebe Goodell Judson, an early Washington pioneer woman who was far ahead of her time.

In July 2011, the Friends hosted an ice cream social at the Library’s Summer Reading Program final party for an appreciative (and hungry!) group of kids.

In September 2011, the Friends co-sponsored another Humanities Washington event.  Cowboy poets Nevada Slim and Cimarron Sue (aka Bruce and Susan Matley) kept the audience’s toes tapping with songs, poetry, and stories about the cowboy way of life.
